Clusters

Have a look on our clusters...

An island cluster corresponds to a set of islands and islets that are globally homogeneous either geographically, environmentally and culturally; it is also an entity that is most often functional, in terms of management process.

A cluster can correspond to an archipelago in the strict sense or to a set of islands and small archipelagoes sharing similar or neighbouring environmental determinants, in terms of geology, climate or biogeography.

Within the framework of the PIM Encyclopaedic Atlas, an island cluster represents the intermediate entity between the sub-basin and an island

considered individually.
